About Us

Girl on pedal toyManawatu Toy Library Association (Incorporated) is a registered charity providing educational toys for families to borrow at a minimal cost. First established in 1976 as a toy library for children with special needs, we have evolved into a provider of educational toys for all local children.

We believe that children learn through play. Quality toys provide sensory stimulation and develop motor, imaginative, social and cognitive skills.

The Toy Library is run by a voluntary committee. We have a paid part-time Library Co-ordinator to oversee day-to-day operation. We are fortunate to have a large team of enthusiastic volunteers who ensure the success of the Toy Library.

Our member volunteers assist the toy library in variety of roles: librarians, toy repairers, administrators, fundraisers, stock-takers and committee members.

The Library’s running costs are funded by the generosity of grants, donations, membership subscriptions and fundraising.
